Virginia Car Insurance

I live in the Washington area and I am trying to understand the advantages and disadvantages of living in the suburbs of Virginia or Maryland. My heard a rumor that if I move to Maryland, my insurance company will jack the rates. Is that the right sound? Why the higher rates simply because I crossed the line of state?

Your insurance company is one who knows that ... just ask them and tell them why you ask ... they will help you. It's really easy they just need to zip codes both ..

And yes it is very likely that rates vary from state to another according to the report accid the area you live ... the insurance fraud and if they have a large number of uninsured drivers this area .... more if it is "the city" or "country" made a difference in rates also ... fewer accidents on the roads because countries are not as crowded, etc.

I would say that the location and driving history are 2 major factors when it comes to insurance ....

Go to Florida ... your rate will triple ... promise.:)

The only way you know is to get some quotes. So much depends on you: your age, driving record, your car, your credit score - insurance companies offer different rates for all these variables so that you will not know until you do some research.

Go to this website, get as many quotes as you can (at least 4-5) Virginia / Maryland and compare them with what you have. Hope this helps.

there is no single answer, because the rates were too many variables. The online version go to an auto insurance company and enter your data for both sites. I can tell you for sure that your cost of living and taxes are higher. Herenow I live and have lived in five other states that have been much lower. Maryland ranks fifth in the nation.
