I'm looking for something similar to AAA to protect my car as far as towing and flat tires and others.? suggestions? Looking for something cheap.
I cover the service road under my car insurance (Erie Insurance). Only $ 8.00 per year, and it actually provides better coverage than AAA. It was not all fluff services like travel planning, travel agent services, etc., but they are all available for free elsewhere anyway.
I say the coverage is better because when my car broke down on a highway in New York, I had to cover both the AAA and $ 8 cover Erie. A trooper stopped and offered to call a tow truck. I asked him to call that which was AAA affiliate. He said the AAA was not allowed on a highway in NY, but AAA would be repaid. The trailer cost me $ 140, and AAA refund of $ 25. I submitted the application to my car insurance, and they have repaid the entire $ 140.
AAA is the best. At $ 54.00 a year, you get a service road and a host of other benefits as regestering your car at your local AAA, free maps, discounts, trade, free 5 gallons of gas if you run on lockout service, and much more.
I have had several cars towed over 100 miles in a period of 4 months (accident) and it did not cost me a penny.
If you do not want to AAA, most major insurance carriers say. Progressive, State Farm, Allstate offer some kind of service lane, but you usually pay out of pocket and ask for your money later.
We AllState Insurance and it offers a program that covers it.
Im not sure what the cost is well.
