Is it legal for your car to be towed if not recorded? Have not you normally just get a ticket?

If a vehicle is parked, you can get a ticket the day after the reg. expired, but it must be out of reg. for at least 6 months before it can be towed.
if the vehicle is in motion, they can give you a ticket and tow the following day reg. expired

If not registered, it is illegal to have on a public street. Parking or driving. I had my motorhome towed my yard because it was not registered and was partly in the street. The city has a 5 easment Infront of my house and walk at the back was on him. LAME, but they can do.

Although technically it is illegal to tow an unregistered vehicle with a hook or sling (rear wheels on the ground); risk of being arrested is quite thin. To be on the safe side, ask for a flat bed where no wheels on the ground. At this point, your car is considered as cargo and not subject to vehicle registration laws.
