Racq Car Insurance

Racq Car InsuranceRACQ insurance covers you for putting incorrect fuel in your car!?

Simply put 18L of E10 in a nearly empty tank of my 3 months old diesel Hyundai i30 this afternoon!

If having towed to the Hyundai dealership, I was able to drive before realizing that 10klms performance was down.I do not know how it is until Monday! The suspense is killing me!

Need to know if RACQ Insurance can cover me for this type of accident?

nope.

you can put diesel in a gasoline car, smoked as buggery, but will be allowed. petrol in a diesel engine is bad, expect a bill big enough and perhaps void the warranty?

Some people put a small amount of petrol in a diesel engine to stop the freezing of fuel in the tank but I think 18lts may be a bit much :-)

All the best, hope it is all ok!

I would suggest you take a look at http://www.mis-fuelling.co.uk/ to prevent you from doing so in future! Flag

Not an accident - you're to blame and should bear the full cost of repair. The trailer can be covered.
