MarketplaceQuotea What does it mean when a police officer must meet specifications and if they do meet the quota this happening? Save ... if you did research on the net, you find there is a federal law that prohibits enforcement of inacting any type of quota system. In some municipalities, the productivity of the police is measured by the number of tickets they issue. Tickets will result in fines - increased revenue. Since 911, the budget constraints, not to cut police salaries or the size of the police officers on patrol or in time are established quotas. In short: earn your keep. People need to stop with this stuff. It quota is against federal law to adopt any type of quota system in a police Thus, if a cop does not "meet" quota, nothing happens, because IL N ' Y A no quota for him to meet. Most enforcement agencies Law will require that you write a minimum of say 100 tickets per month. If you miss your quota ever, they will eventually find a reason to fire you. they are soooo write tickets for things and if they have not the captain shouted at them, then next month, they get crazy and you pull over 6 miles to go the speed limit and write a ticket ur butt. There is no quota. Never saw a department with a quota. Although this happened in the past, police did not impose quotas on the police tickets. "Quota" I was a cop in a very large service for 28 years. No quota system EVER! As a supervisor for that department, no agent has never been given a quota or disiplined for not writing a ticket. I think people are using this as an excuse when they get a ticket, the COP was an asshole and he had to fill a "quota" for the day, but it's not necessarily true of a cop giving tickets. He is just doing his job. I do not think that my officers had something like a quota to meet. They were simply expected to do their work, whether walking the streets downtown or pulling people over for speeding. Do not assume all agents have a hidden agenda. Posted on May 7, 2010.
