What is the law regarding towing vehicles on private property? My car was towed this mornining in front of my house in my parking space. I live in a community that has an association and appearantly if your vehicle has expired tags, they tow. My tags are not expired, I forgot to put the sticker renewal unimportant. There were no warnings or anything left earlier. The car was obviously driven by these vultures who drive through the communities around 2 to 3 AM to watch their lights just to tow cars. There are signs posted in my community who say that unauthorized vehicles will be towed, but my vehicle is allowed to be there and it has been for months. Do I have any recourse and / or how do I know what the laws and regulations are on the towing vehicle of private property. Thank you in advance for any ideas.

As a private owner myself, the law stipulates that local law enforcement or a landlord / agent can not shoot you do not post a current registration sticker unless the vehicle was parked on the grounds City Flag
There is nothing to prevent you from suing them. Winning is a different issue, but in this case you may be able to win without going to court. Send them a letter explaining the situation and re-claim all your expenses and if they refuse to threaten to sue. You take them to small claims, which in your case will probably need only a small filing fee and a short time. According to the laws of your state, they may be forced to seek legal representation. If this is the case, then they would probably settle.
You have to look into the agreement with the association to see what requirements they have as much as give an opinion. If there is none, we must look to the contract of the towing company with the association to see what they are required to do so before towing a car.
