Patrick Carman: The Land of Elyon Book 1 (Dark Hills Divide) and Book 2 (Beyond The Valley Of Thorns). Laurie Faria Stolarz: Blue Nightmare series (there are four books in total). Garth Nix: Sabriel, Lirael and Abhorsen, as well as the keys to the Kingdom series.
If you liked The Vampire Chronicles you can try the lives of the Mayfair Witches by Anne Rice (The Witching Hour, Lasher, and Taltos).
If you are interested in realistic fiction, you can try the following titles:
