Performance Towing

Performance TowingHow can I improve performance on my tow truck? Looking for better gas consumption and power / acceleration.?

I have a 99 Dodge Ram 1500 with Magnum V8. plant equipment. 75K miles, great shape, well maintained.
I was considering an air intake and headers.
DIY about $ 800. Please comment on whether it is worth the expense, or if the money can be used to make something more efficient.

An air intake and headers will increase the overall performance, but if you're serious about increasing your towing capacity and acceleration (torque), you may be better off with your connection box Gear focused more on acceleration. However, this may or may not improve gas mileage you will not benefit from higher speeds. This is just an option to increase the towing capacity, but for the kind of money you are talking about you might have already found the best deal.

A super smart and will accelration pulling power, and an air intake will also help. The opening of exhasut with headers and pipe will give more power, and all this will contribute to fuel consumption too. Just go to JC Whitney or Summit racing and search around and see what you can find.
