Nj Car Insurance Rate I can not afford car insurance in New Jersey, what do I do? I just turned 25 and I've never driven a car before because of high auto insurance rates and the fact that my parents refuse to help me pay. I have a job, but I'm also in college. I got my driver's license this year, but no license yet. I received an estimate on how much it cost me to drive if I get the license, and he went out about 5-6 thousand dollars per year, the madness! I do not intend ever to find a job that allows type of money. If you can not pay car insurance, I'm sorry, but the only answer is to not drive. Yes, I would say around or go online to get more quotes. That does sound high, but you are a new driver and, as such, a greater risk. I do not think that if your parents had let you drive any earlier, he would have made that much difference in cost. Ask for more quotes from different companies. You can not assume that the first one you get is the cheapest. Posted on April 22, 2010.
