Mountain Bike Insurance

Hello, my cousin lent me his bike a few weeks ago, I went about it last week and locked up in the city while I was at the store. When I came out it was someone had nicked. I am really worrying about him that was a cheap bike. I wonder if he had insurance or another type of insurance would be covered even if your bike has been in my possession and locked up in the city? the bike would be stolen property? Will it be covered under the contents insurance? Friendly advice
