To create each list, we have carefully analyzed the data rate for each driver with a 2009 model vehicle that visited InsWeb.com for a quote car insurance this year. After sorting tens of thousands of citations, we came up with an average for each brand and model and the results sorted by price. Each brand and model must have had at least 50 requests for quote to qualify.

What's faster than you take?

If you drive a high performance vehicle with more power than the army of General Washington, insurance companies have no choice but to assume that you will use and practice riskier driving. If you enter in an accident regardless of fault, the cost of returning your vehicle to its original condition can be extraordinary - even for a seemingly innocuous clash.

Bigger is safer, but causes more damage
