Why not offer medical insurance, like car insurance .....? I know this is long but please bear with me.
Rather than establish a separate government run medical insurance or the expansion of Medicare to the general public .... A critical care of government is that it will be in direct competition with existing providers. Ultimately siphoning insurance clients away from traditional plans and rollers care Govt origin of these providers to go out of business.
Here in the auto insurance companies mass must provide the same coverage of basic minimum for doing business throughout the world in mass must be at least the same basic level of insurance (both auto and medical) . You can go to any provider you choose and what level of minimum basic insurance costs the same price. If you want more assurance that you can pay for additional protection.
So why not have a similar program for medical insurance as part of a political nation of the entire group. This group may be subsidized by the government, but it would be managed by the existing insurance providers. (In other words, if you want to be in the business of insurance you have to offer and support this plan would be a basic minimum for any project that you offer) Govt pays the insurer a flat rate to manage each person enrolled in the basic plan.
The more money the company saves (the best managed insurance), the more money they keep. However, if the company provides poor management it will cost. Whether subscribers will change management companies if they feel aggrieved by this practice or waste management would not be paid by the government.
One advantage I see here is that consumers have an alternative supplier to go if they feel aggrieved by a particular management company. With a program like insurance for your Govt stuck with one provider.
As they say a choice is no choice ....
If anyone wants additional assurance that they can buy additional coverage from any provider of their choice. But nobody can be denied coverage for the basic standard plan. Since everyone is part of the strategy group of the national basic health insurance is portable and independent of complementary policies may be. So, if you change jobs or move to a different state, you may lose the political boost, but the basic coverage remains intact. Simply transfer the company that provides management services for basic health workers.
Insurers would be paid by the Fed to manage the participants in the basic plan for each participant to the basic scheme. That would put market forces at play among insurance providers make money by attracting other participants with a better service or tenders. Counter to this is if the consumer receives service management of shit they can transfer to any insurance provider.
This idea should be examined very carefully by the Congress until it begins to try to reinvent the wheel.
Do not sound like a prick, but the mass was not in the best economic conditions before the recession started together. I do not know how insurance companies have played in the ... but I am just saying
You have no choice now.
The idea that anyone can still choose their doctor is simply ridiculous. I had insurance at least 4 different companies in the last decade and no one let me choose any doctor I wanted.
Mass. health plan was created by a Republican, Mitt Romney, for example so bad.
