Low Cost Bike Insurance

Low Cost Bike InsuranceWhat type of sport bike should I do for MPG and great low insurance?

My Lexus RX350 is eating my gas money and I want a bike to have fun and save some gas. I'm 5'7 and I am a beginner, taking a bike safety course that I learned to drive safely. I'm looking for a bike that gives great MPG and something that does not cost me an arm and a leg for insurance. I also want something great sportsman and on the highway. I live in Southern California, so there will be a lot of highway driving and some streets. Thank you

There are so many, I watched a style first show there. All manufacturers have their good and bad points when it comes to engine and maintenance, but they all feel and look different, so start there. If you are looking at insurance costs no more then 600cc.

Very few sport bikes have insurance rates low. If insurance rates down are important to avoid any with R GSX_R, Ninja, Ducati (sport bikes), or any combination CBR on behalf of the motorcycle. Or, better yet, contact your insurance agent and ask.

Most bikes get a better return than your Lexus. And just like your Lexus, it depends on the heaviness of a right hand (the foot on your car) that you use for the mileage you get. In general, sport bikes will get less mileage from a cruiser or street legal dirt bike. Cruisers generally not very good on mileage, but smaller displacement does better on gas than larger engines.

For commuting, I look at a Kawasaki KLR650 and Suzuki V-Strom DR650 on / off road bike, one of many "naked" under 1000cc bikes like the Suzuki Bandit, Ducati Monster, Triumph Twins, or One of 600cc to 1000cc cruisers.

Ninjas are good for beginners. (Search the first bike or a beginner bike). As long as you have some self control, do you limit to 250 CC. (250 is too low for regular highway use, if thats what you mean by the highway, but yeah ..) I'll get something around 500 cc, not more than 600. Ninja 500 is optimal, but there are katanas, CBR, YZF, GZ's. All are usually followed by a number representing the number of DC or other useless letters, just put the image of Google and you'll see. Craigslist is a great place for a used bike, but if you have money you can get a new one from a dealer, but like most people will tell you, you probably need to drop or lose equilibrium youo once or twice and zero. Good luck.

I started with an old Honda CB500 and it worked great for me, but for road use I would get something more modern. The Ducati Monster 620 in low light, predictable, fair, and does not power crazy. Maintence can be an issue that valves should be checked about every 6,000 miles.
The modern Triumph Bonneville is a bit like the Ducati, only heavier and easier to maintain.
Ditto for the Moto Guzzi Breva 750.
These are all good bikes and can probably be made relatively cheap used.
