We think to get an old fishing boat insurance we do u need this? Your landlord is the coverage? It also has a sticker boat for this year we are told that we could use u do not need the sticker on your behalf? Please reply if u know tyvm
Hard to find insurance companies to write policies on old boats, but your agent can sell you the regular responsibility, should not be more than $ 65 or so each year, in case you are sued by someone who injured on board.
If you're referring to a sticker "for a particular lake, it's good until it expires. If you mean your state registration, you have until a deadline thanks expires (probably 60 or 90 days) to get it registered in your name. Depends on the jurisdiction.
you do not need insurance, owners do not cover it, your car insurance would cover it if you wrecked while towing, if it was under your name, while on the water, if the boat sinks, you hit someone or something, you are responsible. If you were registered and the sticker is valid, you can use it, just say that you borrow.
However, I strongly recommend you register your boat name, I do not know where you are, but in Florida you pay sales tax on it and it costs 33.50 to register each year for this why bother.
When you buy your boat, you need to transfer the property immediately and register your boat in your name. When this is done, you will get another label.
As far as insurance goes ... You did not mention this kind of boat ... but if she or engine replacement dollars I would get insurance on this.
More importantly, however, (our time when everyone wants to sue everyone), it is probably more important for you to assure you, your passengers and any other person or property which could possibly be involved - in any way of the form - an accident ... (Your fault there, fault moons - does not matter whose fault ... you want to protect your family income and property of someone suing you and damage to persons or property.
And yes ... Not only you can do so by the owners YOUR INSURANCE ... It is the best and least expensive ...
(Any person who tries to tell you otherwise either do not have a boat - or do not own a house.)
My age of sixty years and a boater all my adult life ... The cheapest way to do this is with a "rider" on your home insurance. I always thought it was the best coverage around the coverage for less money very ... But if you call your insurance company owner and tell them you bought a boat and you want to protect it and yourself and any passengers riding with you and everything and everyone can hit you or you can hit ... etc. They know exactly what you want, they'll fix in seconds ... and it will cost about 1 / 3 of what anyone else will.
Happy & Safe Boating!
its probally a good idea to take out insurance. If for nothing else if it sinks. we live in a gated community that has a lake and I had to have proof ins to put in the water. If your the same state that the vessel is registered in the sticker is good until the date on the sticker. but you probally have so many days after the purchase to put in your name. like when you buy a car. I separated ins on my boat is not on my homeowners ins. Although all my ins is through cooperation itself.
You want the responsibility.
The owners could cover, but you should let your agent know and add it as a rider.
Best idea: the boat still registered in your name. Saves a lot of headaches.
Getting insurance is really cheap. My house officer car money on it but recommended that I try too progressive. I was shocked it was like he was.
not really unless its very expensive
If you.
