Expat Car Insurance Insurance for the English car in Spain? Me live in Spain and have a vehicle English that I am not using at the moment (I have access to another vehicle). My friends car broke down and asked if he could borrow mine for a while. he is an expatriate, but has lived in Spain for many years now and has a driver's license and Spanish residencia. Ive heard that if you have residencia Spanish you can not drive a vehicle registered British. Does anyone know if this is true. we found an insurance company who assure him on the vehicle, which leads me to believe that he is not! Not sure about the first part of your Q, but ....... European rules are completely different from the rules of the United Kingdom relating to insurance.
