Eco Car Insurance

Hello, I'm about to graduate from UNI, (in June) and get my first license in the United Kingdom. I am 23 and I plan to buy a used car with a group of cheap insurance. What car do you recommend that a fuel system, cheap insurance and not too old. cannot afford the 2000s (new car). may be about 50mpg? My budget is about less than £ 2k. insurance will cost me about 1.5 ki think it'll be my first car, and Uk my first driver's license. I have a driving license in Malaysia for about 6 years now. But do not think insurance will be cheaper with this. So, my total budget, car and insurance will be less £ 3.5 K. Any good recomendations?
