My credit card was debited without my consent - What steps should I take? I recently purchased an auto insurance by phone. The sales consultant quoted a way for me, I accepted and I then provided my credit card number.
When I received the documents by mail several days later I noticed I was charged 35 pounds for additional roadside assistance, I did not want was not available and n has not allowed! I phoned the insurance company, who agreed to repay the money, as it was in the 14 day 'reflection period.
I'm really unhappy because it is immaterial whether it is in the reflection period that I never gave my consent to it first! When I said that I was afraid that my card was charged without my authorization, the company told me to raise this issue with my bank. When I pointed out that it was not my bank who had made the mistake, but themselves, the person I spoke to said they listen to the conversation I had with the advisor sale and let me know if I had accepted this additional burden.
The company has never called back and I want to write a letter of complaint. Can anyone advise me on this? I think the company acted illegally, but I'm not sure.
Thank you!
I understand your annoyance. It is possible (but unlikely) that the device insurance company has made a genuine mistake. They argue that anyway. You can file a complaint with the credit card company if it makes you feel better, but they are not concerned that the "fault" has been corrected and you have been refunded. The only way you win is by moving your insurance next year. Everything else is a hassle for you.
Call the credit card company and dispute the charge.
Does this help?

There is not much you can really make that filing a formal complaint and demand your money.
I would like to make a complaint if - in writing. They said they will refund, but have not received written confirmation of this or even got a reply when they said they would look into it, I assure you to send this by acknowledgment so they can not say they never received the letter.
If not resond your complaint, then I contact Trading Standards, but until you've gone through the complaints procedure, they will probably not be able to do anything.
It is not against the law to make a typo. Maybe they just clicked the wrong button when they were, you put in place. They took off from your account, is not it?
has as much information as you could possibly be one of the options, but it is long enough, here is the resource http://www.CarInsuranceFree.info/free-car-insurance.htm I ever had a good experience.
It is wrong that was done, however, you have your money - take a pill cold and enjoy Christmas.
:)
Yes, it's against the law for them to debit your card for more than the amount that you have adopted. But as they easily refunded your money, you will not get anywhere by pursuing them.
Here are the steps I should take:
Step 1. Contact the insurance commissioner in your area and file a complaint. They will not do something for society, except that it will hurt their reputation if other people to file similar complaints.
Step 2: Find another insurance company and the transfer of your coverage. What this company know that you will not continue to do business with a company that would mislead customers into paying extra for services they did not ask. The best way consumers can defend themselves against unfair business is simply to avoid doing business with them.
they always do ... at least y.
