Can I check if my car is repaired or replaced?
Like most people, not use your car because of an accident is a major drawback. Normally the insurance company has the option to repair or replace your vehicle, as it is cheaper to replace your vehicle than to repair. If this happens, the insurance company to declare your vehicle a "total loss", and take steps to replace your vehicle. When your car is declared a total loss, the insurance company buys your car for its market value, which can be determined by a source such as the Kelley Blue Book. If you want to keep the car accident, you can buy it back from the insurance company for its salvage value. The adjuster can deduct the salvage value of the property and you can keep the car if it does, you can choose to use your own money to repair your car to bring it to a safe condition and roadworthy.

Often the situation is reversed, and the insurance company decides to repair a vehicle rather than replace it. In this case, if you're concerned about the safety of the vehicle repaired, you should contact our office to discuss your options.

What is the value of my car determined?
You have the right to recover the fair market value "or the actual cash value 'of your vehicle immediately prior to the accident . One common source used to estimate the fair market value is the Kelley Blue Book. Other sources of information are local newspapers or the Auto Trader, which can list the sale price of cars of the same make, model and year as yours. Sometimes a vehicle appraiser is used to help prove the value of your vehicle.

What if I'm "Upside Down" on the loan for my car?
If you're upside down on a loan, that means you owe more money on the loan of the fair market value of the car. Unfortunately, if your vehicle is a total loss the insurance company is not obligated to pay more money for you just because you are "Upside Down" on your car loan. They are required to pay the fair market value "of your car.

Can I choose my own workshop repair?
Yes. You may take your car wherever you want it repaired but the cost of repair is not always determined by the estimate given by the repair shop of your choice.

What kind of parts will be used for repair?
You have the right to require that only original manufacturer parts are used in the repair, if your car is a Saab, you should receive parts from Saab. Your car was probably not new at the time of the accident, so the mechanic to repair your car can choose to use refurbished or reconditioned parts.

What if my car had some damage before the accident?
