My car was towed because of the NYC Marathon, do I pay it back?

No things are different for some reason when it comes to the New York marathon. Due to a shortage of tow trucks and the time they did not have enough resources to take all the cars on the 5 boroughs of impoundment lots Then they moved to other blocks. Your best bet is to first call 311 and explain the situation to them so they give you the # to the police station having jurisdiction over where you were parked. They should be able to show you where they have moved out of your car. It is a hassle-free trust me, I'm going the same thing at the moment I'm just thankful they moved to another block and not a lot where I'd have to pay a fee. Hope I helped!
