Car Breakdown FranceWhat is the minimum required ventilation kit when you travel by car in France?

red triangle, etc.?

You walk through these sites ... they offer excellent advice even if you can call it a must to have a red triangle, others say it is better to do ... I always felt that you had to wear, plus spare bulbs, etc.

AA has good advice on this. Try here: http://www.theaa.com/motoring_advice/ove ...

No more MPPRH AA and above, in 2006, it is now law in Germany, France, Italy, Hungary and Spain, you * must * include the provision of "safety vest high visibility" to all failures and the scene of the accident. Especially when the triangle of distress is used, and also * must * be placed in the above circumstances, it is safe to do so.

I expect this requirement to become a vest EU directive "in the coming year for each of its Member States to adopt.

The move to mandate the lawyer and a triangle of distress and safety vest is now spent in the arena of the UN, where the elements will be part of a new and future "United Nations Convention on Road Traffic, road signs.

Triangles used in Europe (and now China) must meet the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe Regulation 27 in transport. (ECE R27). The units used in the North American market does not conform generally poorer due reflector and internal "daytime performance triangle.

Most of these items on eBay are not consistent, beware, unless stated as "ECE 27R" or "EEC Compliant.

Light vehicles in the EU and China have an ECE 27R warning triangle as standard equipment, with the exception of Spain which provides both be provided as standard.

If you need glasses for driving, you should bring a spare pair

Warning triangle, first aid kit, spare bulbs and spare glasses if the driver door, as well as supposedly a "green card" required ISN t I always have found worthwhile. You will also need to carry your documents - driving license, car reg document, details of insurance and roadworthiness. Be aware that if you have a radar detector, you may have a place on the fine (huge!) And confiscation of your equipment - watch out for speed cameras on the ramp from the tunnel and on the roads service terminals Ferry cops "" We seem to target British!

Warning triangle or hazard warning lights required - We recommend that a warning triangle always be done with a set of spare bulbs. Snow chains must be mounted on vehicles on roads covered with snow in accordance with the relevant road signs.

It is forbidden to carry, transport or use of radar detectors. The detector will be confiscated, a hefty fine imposed to deposit, followed by a summons to court, with the possible risk of confiscation of the vehicle.

Dipped headlights must be used in poor visibility days. It is strongly recommended by the French government as 4 + motorbikes use dipped headlights day and night (already required for motorcycles).

Children under 10 can not travel as front seat passenger except babies - up to 9 months and less than 9 kg - the rear-facing seat. Children under 10 must use the back restraint system adapted to the weight
