Boat Insurance Agency

Boat Insurance AgencyIs it wise to change an insurance agent in a claim?

I am currently in a process innvolved property claim and the insurance agent or agency does not respond or support. What effect would my current application if I had to switch to another or the local body.

I have no problems with the insurance company again and do not expect, nor want.

I need to add liability coverage for my boat for the summer and I prefer working with someone else in the future.

Thank you all for your comments on the broad issues that I raised today.

While we were covered at the time of loss ... it should make no difference at all ...

A different agency - not the company should make no difference at all ... but the officer did not always have much traction when it comes to balancing an adjuster to help you.
You can pass and then be disappointed that the new agent does not favor either

Unfortunately, only agents care about their commissions. They do not care about your claims, and in some cases, they get rated down if their business volume contains statements too.

Go directly to the Claims Department, the officer did not need to be involved. And discharge of the officer that you threw - another agent will be happy to take over the committees of this clown is not winning.

DONT change until the application is closed. compnaies most will not write you a new policy with a claim open anyway.

It does not affect demand at all if you change during the claim process. All that matters is whether you had an active policy on the date of loss. Officers have little or no impact on 99% of claims (with the exception of low value claims). The request will be handled between you and the society based on rules set out in policy. The agent can not increase what you get paid, and the company would be foolish to listen to an agent to try to reduce what you get paid.

Well, it depends really. If your insurance does not work, is it even possible that he or she might be less sensitive if you left?

There are good chances that you go to an agent who is more willing to help. This new agent may even be willing to work to help you with your claim to the other company. I even worked with insurers will not count against a claim under a new customer if nothing shows a loss in their history, even when you tell them. You might be lucky.

If you do not want to do something to make your current agent, although less sensitive, perhaps you can get a new agent at your side to help you.

Well, I did not want the demand is satisfied. I would like to let the agent know directly that I was not satisfied with his performance, and this could be enough to reverse the situation.

If you want to go swimming in the ocean,
would you bleed in front of a shark?

Because the agent does not respond, you can record the time you tried to contact and a summary of the messages left to the agent. Then, you can contact the business directly.

If you really, really, really want to attract the attention of the agent, do this:
Send them a photocopy of a letter to Insurance Commissioner for your state. Note why you write in Nice, big letters. He will see his name and know something is brewing.
Of course, you do not send the original letter.
The copy will stimulate people to action.

PS It is not necessary that an agent is favorable.
He or she must, must, must be adapted.

So, keep an agent yet. After application, do what you want.

At the same time send a copy of the Commissioner's letter to him.

Enjoy!
