If you claim on your auto insurance because your car is struck from the policy then automatically null and void until you no longer have a car to insure??

If you then use the money demand to buy a new car would have to transfer your policy to the new car? premiums (obviously may change depending on car)

Basically what I am making is that if you ask for your car written off and you want to buy a new car, but not continue with the existing insurance is that possible without having to pay the cancellation fee you would normally pay if you just choose to cancel without a claim made?
